| Jan. 24th, 2006 05:42 am The answers Well, this was kind of interesting. They weren't "classic" films, and some of the quotes really aren't *that* great, but I was looking for quotes to match up to thses films and this was the best that IMDB could do for me. ------------------------ 1) These last few days have been so perfect. Except for the bit where we almost got eaten by ogres. And you wrote a letter that ripped out my heart. And I had to dance with Hattie.
-- Ella Enchanted, a nice, fluffy, Princess-Bride-light. Which got the same PG rating as Raiders of the Lost Ark, where peoples' heads get blown off and melt. Hmmmm......
2) You ever try a pink golf ball, Wally? Why, the wind shear alone on a pink golf ball can take the head off a 90-pound midget at over 300 yards.
--Six-String Samurai. *Interesting* film.
3) So I signed everything over to Sebastian. Except for enough money to sustain me if things got bad. I was determined to make myself a new life. A better one. But me and Sebastian, we had us a deal. If I wanted to trade back, he'd let me. It was all written up in the contract. Thing was, I lost my copy in a barbeque accident.
--Bubba Ho-Tep. Not for everyone!
4) In the end, my girlfriend became my arch enemy, my arch enemy became my best friend, and my best friend became my girlfriend. But hey... it's high school.
--Sky High. For everyone! Again light and fluffy, but it *is* a Disney film.
5) Detroit, 1982. World Styling Finals. We're running around shouting, "Foul," while the Yanks, whose combs mysteriously do not wilt, do not melt, just carry on styling. No prizes for guessing who took the medals that year.
--Blow Dry. Bill Nighy, Alan Rickman. Yes, it's a film about hairdressers, but with surprising depth. You only *think* it's not for you.
6) Our battle, our struggle, is to create art. Our weapon is the moving picture. Because we have the moving picture, our paintings will grow and recede; our poetry will be shadows that lengthen and conceal; our light will play across living faces that laugh and agonize; and our music will linger and finally overwhelm, because it will have a context as certain as the grave. We are scientists engaged in the creation of memory... but our memory will neither blur nor fade.
--Shadow of the Vampire. I wouldn't have gotten this one.
7) As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Meat is the anagram of team... I don't know what he was talking about.
--Shaun of the Dead! There are more memorable lines, but most of them are bits of dialogue, and I wanted something to stand alone.
8) Do you know what the definition of a hero is? Someone who gets other people killed. We can look it up later.
--Serenity. MmmmmmMMmmmmm....
9) Now, just because someone sees, you know, two naked people asleep in bed together, it doesn't necessarily prove sex was involved. It does, however, make for a very strong case.
--Velvet Goldmine. I liked it. 1 comment - Leave a comment |
